Oftiani is husband-and-wife duo Matthew Thornicroft and
Bridget Viviani. (The trade name [pronounced ôftēônē] is an amalgamation of the pair's surnames — which they've used as a cobbled together marital pseudonym.) Bridget — the "frontman" — is the songwriter and vocalist for the band, as well as the drummer, percussionist, ukuleleist, and bassist. Matthew — the "wingman" — is the saxophonist, flutist, and tin whistler. The Cleveland-based Limited Liability Company also functions as a self-representative record label and music publisher. |
Equipped with a studio art degree (with concentrations in painting and sculpture), Bridget creates Oftiani's illustrations, graphic designs, and artistic copy/text. Matthew — sporting a journalism degree (with a Public Relations focus) — handles the copy editing, advertising content/text, and publicity communications.
High school sweethearts, Matthew and Bridget started making music together as teens in their alma mater's marching band — playing sax and snare (respectively). Their music is intimate and imperfect — like a marriage. They strive to keep the human element in their hands-on approach to both crafting their artwork as a band and marketing their line of tangible and intangible goods as a label & publisher combo.
